      Virus – amiga

      Epic – amiga

FRONTIER – amiga (Loved my Military drive courier to bits! – Played for years listening to Division Bell).

      TIE fighter – 486 I think

X-WING vs tie fighter – Cant remeber

X-WING vs TIE – Upgraded to 3dfx, was awesome!

      Descent 3d

      X

      X-Tension

      Jumpgate TRI (Beta Tester)

      X2

      Hardwar

Freelancer <-hosted own server for a few months!!

      X3 Reunion

      Homeworld 1 & 2

      X3 – Terran conflict

      EVE – (Beta tester)

I’m sure theres a couple I’ve missed  and will kick myself when I get reminded of them..

This topic could take a while, so I’ll limit my post to Elite.

      Elite – Amiga 500+

      Frontier – Amiga

      Frontier 2 – Amiga

And the current, as you all know.

The Amiga 500 was a beast in the day. Many fond memories, and those memories are the reason I bought ED, the Rift and HOTAS, trying to recapture that long ago feeling.
Hey, wasn’t Virus a David Braben release too? I can only just recall it.

That link brings back some memories, I can still remember flying over the landscape. Good read.

I’ve no doubt left out a number that I’ve played, but the most memorable are…

      • Does Zaxxon count? :p
      • Elite C64 (very briefly – didn’t quite have the patience then)
      • Frontier Elite – Amiga 500 and 1200 (ECS and AGA versions)
      • K240 – Amiga
      • Dune 2000 – Amiga (Am I drawing a long bow here?)
      • Space Quest I – IV Amiga and PC
      • Homeworld – PC
      • Pax Imperia – PC (loved the customisation of ships on these)
      • One or two isometric Elite “clones” on Mac (G5) – can’t remember what they were called, but they had cool storylines, different depending which path you took
      • Galactic Civilisations II – PC
      • Warhammer 40K offline RTS (three or four stackable titles)
      • Sins of a Solar Empire (played a couple of versions of this)
      • X2 – The Threat (loved being able to simultaneously run multiple ships + the in-game story)
      • Endless Space – (well worth a look)

While we’re at it, I’ll slip in a couple of tabletop games:

      • Warhammer 40K (Praeteorian XXIV + Armour [both Imperial Guard], Space Marines)
      • Warhammer Battlefleet Gothic (The only time I choose Chaos – the capital ships look like Pythons and Anacondas)

Oi! That's Baron von Schnellenstein to you, mate. No, it doesn't matter that I'm an Imperial Prince!

I never really got into the space games, either because I missed them or I didn’t have the patience, and the one I really remember doesn’t really compare with the list, but I loved it anyway

      Rescue on Fractalus

I still catch myself humming the tune to this day…

well … there was not as much to choose from 😉

i can remeber that i have seen elite on the amiga .. but my friend just said “that game sucks, its more or less impossible to get into this stupid station” and than he crashed the ship into the letterbox 😀 so we played x wing vs tie fighter 😀

i had a c64 and 3d was just to much for it … so i never got deep into 3d sims, that time.

so … i guess the first space game that i found interessting was wing commander on the SNES … after that wingcommander on the PC.

after that .. there wasnt much in 3d space combat, was there? if there would have been, i would not have cared much .. i was deeply dived into command and conquer and civilisation, starcraft .. and of course: homeworld in that time  😀
