As you all know i currently have the priviledge of undertaking the Imperial Pilgrimage (Achenar -> Sag A* -> Achenar)
I will be sharing random sights through this forum and my album on imgur.
I am close to the Lagoon Nebula now, having passed through some amazing Systems.
4 Neutron stars and a black hole, all in the same system was a sight to behold.
Thor’s Eye is another worthwhile visit if you want to go exploring.
I Should make it to the Lagoon Nebula tonight, then set my sights towards the center.
Still got a long trot ahead of me, but there’s a beautiful universe out here to be seen!

Greetings respected ally.
I am glad to see the trip is going well for you.
Some really amazing sights on your journey.
I wish you the best of luck in your continuing journey, and would be honored if I could wing you when closer to home.
For the glory of the Empire.

Your post about an escort request got lost after my kerfuffle.
But yes, we can send someone to “pick you up” from the edge of civilization.

May the sun never blind your eyes – Enjoy the journey, bet it sounds a little lonely in that adder@

Some beautiful sights you’ve seen, really nice images. It gives me a bit more motivation on my own little journey. I just have to remember to take the occasional screenshot, all I’m ever thinking is “Earth Like, Earth Like, Earth Like, there will be one in the next system for sure. Just one more system. Okay, another. Oh, it’s 3am.
Have a fun, safe journey. I’ll let you know if I decide to swing around to the core for a possible rendezvous, not sure where I’m headed yet after I’ve reached my initial destination.
For the Empire!

Love your artistic approach to documenting your journey.
Bonus for flying the Adder

Brothers! I am either losing my mind or bringing concerning tidings.
Curiousity got the better of me and i dropped out of SC way closer to a blackhole then what should be safe. That’s when the strange noises started.
First it sounded like standard distortion and ambience picked up by my instruments, but after turning everything off except for life support i started hearing weird insectoid… clicks…
And what sounded like systems and engine noises akin, yet alien to our own technology.
Call me crazy, but maybe the myths of “Thargoids” are more grounded in reality then we think!
(Seriously, if you find yourself near a blackhole, get in close (but not too close) and drop out of SC, sounds pretty damn creepy/cool!)

Pics or it didn’t happen.
what I mean is, do you have any pics? That is worth an article.

Keep it up – Hows your Hull?
Havent visited a blackhole yet… sounds awesome.
02/05/2015 at 2:46 PM #1465
Hull is completely fine, still at 100%… it was the tiniest black hole I ever did see… I’m not far from there so I might head back and try and catch it on video tonight

Did somebody say Thargoids?

Ah you see, there’s your problem right there. Your life-support vents gone got themselves a roach infestation. Gonna be hard getting pest control all the way out there, I know a guy who knows a guy who could write you up a quote maybe…
(Seriously, I’m gonna try and find a black hole on the remainder of my journey home now. Did you need to be out of SC to hear the creepiness?)
05/05/2015 at 6:36 AM #1581
For those of you interested I managed to catch a recording of my findings around a black hole:
After i’ve dropped out of SC in the video, you may have to crank up the volume a bit to hear the finer detail, but you can clearly hear all my weird experiences!

I can’t really comment too much, but that is super cool.
Well worth documenting, cheers for going back to get the footage.

Added it as a post to the Blog after some editing, and listed it on Reddit.

Very very interesting find there!
Certainly some insect like sounds in that recording…
When they arrive (don’t want to scare Damorgs again by naming them), I wonder if we’ll just see systems go dark. Nav beacons disabled, some traders in beaten up ships tumbling in towards populated areas… Witchspace interdictions…
Hopefully it doesn’t become a sideshow to power play (or power play becomes a sideshow).
I’m gonna wash my spare pair of undies just in case.

Just a quick update that i am still alive and trotting along steadily.
Certain IRL issues (sick missus, hospital trips galore and other fun) has seen me being very absent lately, but as of yesterday i am now back to routinely making progress. You can see my latest progress in my album.
I’ve passed the halfway mark now, and am currently fast tracking more then in the past to make some headway. Still some beatiful sights out here…

Some nice pics there, is that what it looks like when you et into a nebula?, the stars all close together?
26/05/2015 at 9:26 AM #2167
Nope, the bunched up stars are just evidence that i’m getting closer and closer to the center of the galaxy.
The starfields are crazy dense at the moment, sometimes dizzyingly so!
The nebulas are just pretty coloured back drops, you can see in some of the photos i’ve tried capturing the red and orange clouds from some of the nebulas i’ve passed through.

Alas my brothers,
Unfortunately there will be a small delay on my pilgrimage as I have suffered grave equipment malfunction and have had to stop for repairs… (My X-55 died and I’ve had to do a warranty claim on it… Estimation is about 2 weeks to even hear back :-/ )
I’ll return to my journey as soon as I can!
14/07/2015 at 7:23 AM #3633
At long last!
Over the weekend i finally managed to repair my control coloumn after having been beached orbiting a Gas Giant for 4 weeks…
I’m back on track and on Sunday are happy to report that i finally passed the Great Annihilator!
Currently 2.5k LY out from Sag A* and are closing in fast, i should be there by the end of the week at this rate…
Then it’s time to knuckle down and head home to Wangal!
I yearn to see the sight of Nelder City again.
14/07/2015 at 11:07 AM #3635
Great News!, Nelder is not the same without you.
17/07/2015 at 10:16 PM #3694
This is it brothers!
I have finally made it!!!
Months of work, broken equipment and other hassles, all leading to this moment… Sagittarius A*.
I have refrained to upload images of Sag A* out of respect of the people who want to experience it themselves, but if images are desired let me know and i can make it happen…
I’ll probably hang around here for a day or so before heading back towards civilisation and home!
